About Me

Hello I’m Jo, an integrative counsellor and coach.

I work with clients aged 16 and over, offering both short and long term therapy tailored to individual needs, preferences, and goals.

I offer both in-person (Buckhurst Hill, Wanstead & Barkingside) and online therapy.

Prior to qualifying as a Counsellor Coach, I worked for over 30 years in mainstream and SEND education settings, as a teacher, SENDCo, outreach and advisory teacher.

My work supports those navigating a wide range of challenges, including  anxiety, stress, low mood, self-compassion, bereavement, anger, conflict, identity, abuse, life transitions and relationship difficulties. Known for my calm and grounded presence, I offer a safe and respectful space where people feel genuinely heard and supported.

I enjoy working with people; building trusting relationships by actively listening, exploring challenges with them and supporting them to make a plan going forward by building on their existing strengths.  I believe passionately that we all have the ability to make changes to how we live our lives.

I very much value my own experiences of personal therapy. Sitting in a safe space, free of judgement, talking things through, hearing your own words out loud is very powerful.

I hold a BAEd (Art and Education) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Coaching from the University of East London.

I am a registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I abide by their Ethical Framework and Code of Professional Conduct.
